Logo, Branding, and Website
The Starling at Pond Eddy is a guest house and event space located in the Catskills, NY. The main building dates back to the days of the Delaware & Hudson Canal (1893) when it served as a general store and boardinghouse. The Starling takes inspiration from its past to curate an experience that is nostalgic yet modern. The branding is a reflection of the surrounding countryside and its inhabitants—cool greens and sturdy clay, worn hands with hammers, nested feathers, and rustling ferns.
The grounds of the Starling is comprised of 3 separate indoor spaces and 2 outdoor spaces. Communicating the unique personalities of these spaces required focused copywriting that clearly defined the benefits of each. This was accomplished with carefully structured and categorized guest informational sets for personal stays, corporate, and private events. The core brand aesthetic was applied to media and ephemera that would be directed toward weekend warriors and holiday adventurists, whereas a softer visual language was developed for events like weddings and anniversaries.
